my memories, they come
they don’t ask for permission

i always give them attention
without them, i am no one

Time to take a break
the sky was clear, my mind was grey
rubbed my eyes and got out of bed
took a deep breath as i raised my head
gave thanks for the water and the bread
for my mother, my father, and the warm bed
my mind, my health, and my sense of things
all the circumstances that my life brings
took a pensive slow walk by the Carib sea
pulled a green coconut from a short tree
lay on the soft grass in the cool shade
for a confused kid, i had it made
cool breeze caressed my timid face
i was in awe of the wonderful place
the sights, the sounds, they calmed my soul
i wouldn’t trade it for silver or gold
before i knew it, i was living in L.A.
my mind was clear , but here, the sky was grey
i traded nature for opportunity
a choice no one should ever have to make
it must be time to take a break -
Things not visible
there are many things not visible
that we simply cannot see
like things hidden underground
like the long, long roots of a treethere are many things not visible
things hidden in the air
just because you cannot see them
it doesn’t mean they are not therethere are many things not visible
like things that are deep under the sea
creatures living in boiling water
things you would not believe could bethere are many things not visible
like the things inside my head

life does not have a meaning
only a beginning and an end
venture to find the meaning and there goes your life my friend
life is Time, an hourglass flipped at birth
what are your gonna do with you time on this earth
life is like electricity
it could be good or bad
we can strap a man on a chair and give him death
or we can zap a man’s chest and give him back his breath
life is not a question that can be answered by man
life is a statement that screams and roars,

Science and Religion will never make us comprehend
love your friends and family respect life to the end
what is important is how we treat each other
and whether we keep the environment clean
the rest is just a waste of time
